Conference: TRACC's Dr. Kuilin Zhang will chair a session at the upcoming IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Conference 2011
Special Session on "Dynamic Traffic Assignment Models and Their Applications to Integrated Corridor Management"
Organizer: Dr. Kuilin Zhang, Transportation Research and Analysis Computing Center, Energy Systems Division, Argonne National Laboratory, USA
Development and analysis of advanced traffic management strategies for integrated multimodal urban corridor management requires application of a new generation of demand modeling and network analysis tools. Dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) models uniquely address the needs of metropolitan areas and state agencies for decision support methodologies for integrated corridor management (ICM). This session is interested in methodologies of DTA models and their applications to ICM for supporting intelligent transportation network management and operational planning.
This session will include new development and deployment of dynamic traffic assignment models as follows:
- Application of dynamic traffic assignment models to solve actual and large-scale multimodal transportation problems to support traffic management and operation, congestion pricing, managed lanes, emergency evacuation etc.
- Analysis, modeling, and simulation for integrated urban corridor management
- Development of models and algorithms to solve dynamic traffic assignment problems
- Integrated demand and dynamic traffic assignment models
- Dynamic traffic assignment models under demand and network uncertainty
